STARTNOW project
Project code:
NPOO.C3.2.R2-I1.06.0042
In STARTNOW project organic reactions in water will be conducted by employing artificial tubular supramolecular structures assembled from bent-shaped amphiphilic molecules in water.

ABOUT PROJECT
In recent years
there has been a growing interest in adopting water-based systems in organic synthesis as a more environmentally friendly alternative to organic solvents. However, despite advances in the fields of micellar systems and artificial enzymes, there are still many challenges, such as limitations in catalytic activity, reaction scope...
For successful management of the project
Three highly interrelated and complementary research objectives are devised:
Objective 1
The synthesis of two types of amphiphilic water-soluble molecules (monomers), one with a pH-responsive moiety and the other with organocatalytic functionality
Objective 2
The study of their self-assembly and co-assembly into tubular supramolecular structures in water
Objective 3
Utilizing developed systems for the catalysis of specific organic reactions based on the incorporated organocatalytic monomer.
People
The Team
We are a group of young and enthusiastic researchers working in the field of organic and supramolecular chemistry. Our goal is to develop catalytic systems for organic synthesis in water.
